Marisa Rodriguez (she/her) is a Researcher at the Geena Davis Institute. Originally from San Francisco, she graduated from California State University, East Bay in 2020, where she earned a B.A. in Sociology with an emphasis in gender and racial representation in media. She is currently finishing her M.A. in Sociology at California State University, Fullerton where she is conducting qualitative research on women of color interacting with comic book fandom. She hopes to pursue her Ph.D. in the near future studying cultural scripts in media.
