Rosemarie T. Truglio, Senior Vice President of Global Education at Sesame Workshop, is a distinguished Developmental and Child Psychologist responsible for overseeing curriculum and content development across multiple platforms. In her role, Dr. Truglio not only leads the advancement of Sesame Street’s educational framework but also manages the curricula for all new productions, including Mecha Builders, Esme & Roy, Bea’s Block, Helpsters, and Ghostwriter

Prior to joining Sesame Workshop in 1997, Dr. Truglio was an Assistant Professor of Communication and Education at Teachers College, Columbia University. She has published extensively and presented her research at both national and international conferences. Her latest publication is Ready for School! A Parent’s Guide to Playful Learning for Children Ages 2 to 5, and she is co-editor of “G is for Growing: Thirty Years of Research on Children and Sesame Street.”

Dr. Truglio has been featured on various network, cable, and radio programs and has provided expert commentary to numerous national and international news outlets. She holds a Ph.D. in Developmental and Child Psychology from the University of Kansas and a B.A. in Psychology from Douglass College, Rutgers University. Her accolades include distinguished alumni awards from Douglass College (2005), the University of Kansas (2013), and Rutgers University (2014), induction into the University of Kansas Women’s Hall of Fame (2015) and receiving the Teachers College Medal for Distinguished Service (2022).
