L.A. Film Critics Association: Shirley MacLaine to Receive Lifetime Achievement Award

Shirley MacLaine, the legendary film actress whose career spans the late 1950s through the present day, has been chosen by the Los Angeles Film Critics Association as its next career achievement award recipient. The 82-year-old is best known for her performances in 1958’s Some Came Running, 1960’s The Apartment, 1961’s The Children’s Hour, 1963’s Irma La Douce, 1977’s The Turning Point, 1979’s Being There, 1983’s Terms of Endearment (for which she was awarded the best actress Oscar), 1989’s Steel Magnolias and 1990’s Postcards From the Edge.
