Since Jodie began acting at the age of 3, she’s seen a lot of positive changes in the industry – but Hollywood needs to make even big steps toward equality, she says. “When I was growing up in the film business, I never saw a woman’s face,” Foster told the crowd while accepting the Laura Ziskin Lifetime Achievement Award at the Athena Film Festival on Thursday. “Sometimes it was the lady who played my mom.
