The Geena Davis Institute hosted a powerful virtual event examining our research: The State of Disability Representation on Television (2016–2023), funded by the Ruderman Family Foundation.
We brought together the data and the people who are pushing the industry forward.
Through a data-driven presentation and an honest, nuanced panel conversation, we unpacked how disability representation on television has (and hasn’t) evolved — and why authentic, inclusive storytelling still matters. The findings showed both progress and persistent gaps, underscoring how accurate disability representation can influence culture, attitudes, and opportunity across the industry.
